Because planking with pizza is better than … – Instagram
Lifestyle | Wellness on Instagram: “Because planking with pizza is better than planking without pizza 🍕I was tagged by the cutest @fitmochi for the new hashtag #whatsinaname. Simply a tag to explain what your IG name means to you. I wish I had a cute story but simply planks are my least favorite exercise ever. I’ll do burpees, push-ups, and squats any day but something about planks got me like NOPE. And well pizza is life. Pizza is bae. So naturally plankingforpizza is perfect for me. But in all seriousness, I exercise and do things I might not enjoy so I can, on occasion, enjoy foods I love. I workout not because I don’t like it, I actually really enjoy it, but also because it’s a healthy practice for your mind, body, and spirit. And as much as I love pizza (clearly it’s my favorite food group 😉) it doesn’t do anything besides satisfy me for the few minutes it takes to inhale it. So now when I eat it on very rare occasions (this was my second slice of deliciousness in 16 weeks!!! Seriously a record for me) I enjoy, savor, and appreciate it as a treat more so than a frequent indulgence because it was quick and convenient or nursed my emotions at the time. I definitely love pizza, but I love being healthy more. Was it hard to give up pizza? Actually no. I don’t crave it much or feel like I’m depriving myself. My stomach was actually a little upset after eating one slice. I made a commitment to myself to choose health and happiness over food. And so far, I’m proud I’ve accomplished that! My name is a constant reminder to myself as to why I’m doing this. I used to have a love/ hate relationship with food and exercise and I’m so glad I’m slowly starting to find a love/ love balance between the two. I exercise and eat right for my health. I no longer eat things to help regulate emotions. I eat when I’m hungry and until I’m full. I nourish myself with what my body needs, not wants. I do challenging exercises because it’s better for me! I love my IG name because it’s a daily reflection of why I started and why I won’t stop 💪🏼💕 I don’t plank often, but when I do, I do it with pizza 🍕 (JK this was the first time and quite possibly one of the strangest pictures I’ve ever taken haha)”
